This dissertation presents an introductory knowledge to computational neuroscience and major emphasize on the branch of computational neuroscience called Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs). SNNs are also called the third generation neural networks. It has become now a major field of Soft Computing. In this we talk about the temporal characteristics of neuron and studied the dynamics of it. We have presented SNNs architecture with fuzzy reasoning capability. Neuron selectivity is facilitated using receptive fields that enable individual neurons to be responsive to certain spike train frequencies and behave in a similar manner as fuzzy membership functions. The network of SNNs consists of three layers that is input, hidden and output layer. The topology of this network is based on Radial basis Network, which can be regarded as universal approximators. The input layer receives the input in the form of frequency which produces the spikes through linear encoding. There is another method of encoding called Poisson encoding; this encoding is used where the data is large. The hidden layer use Receptive Field (RF) to process the input and thus it is frequency selective. The output layer is only responsible for learning. The learning is based on local learning. The XOR classification problem is used to test the capabilities of the network. There is a problem of continuous updating of weight arises. This issue of weight is resolved by using STDP window and fuzzy resoning. The dissertation demonstrates how it is possible to obtain fuzzy reasoning capability from biological models of spiking neurons. The fuzzy spiking neural network implements fuzzy rules by configuration of receptive fields, antecedent conjunction with excitatory and inhibitory connections, and inferencing via a biologically plausible supervised learning algorithm. In this way, the resulting system utilizes a higher level of knowledge representation.
From the early nineties, when IBM MQ Series first hit the market, during many years no one in the MQ universe really bothered too much about security. MQ seemed secure by being a simple peer to peer messaging protocol that is uncommon and unknown. As time went by, IBM packed more and more features into the product. More and more customers used MQ until it eventually became to a quasi-standard for reliable messaging. But only in the past few years awareness was raised that MQ security is vital since the product has evolved to a very powerful and dynamic platform for remote interaction.Yet, MQ's dynamic power is hidden under the hood. It is so easy to install a queue manager and not much more of a challenge to set up a simple MQ network. When we get to securing our MQ network however, we find the task to be surprisingly complex and multi-layered. Even though IBM's documentation of MQ overall may be classified above average at least - some important details regarding MQ security are incomplete or even misleading. For MQ, common security measures such as SSL are somewhat peculiar to implement and some properties of typical roles are interchanged.In our freshman days we learned that security always is as strong as its weakest link and hence a little inadvertence may render the whole network insecure. So regarding security it's vital to make a good job.
This new technical book proposes that relying on increasing processor speeds and multi-threading at the operating system level is not enough to ensure true parallel processing performance. It questions the fitness for purpose of operating systems and JAVA interpreters in the quest for parallel processing performance increases. It thus provides an approach to parallel programming in JAVA using an API.The book contains three principal sections. It firstly describes some Basic Concepts in Parallel Programming, such as Row-Order and Amdahl's Law. It then provides a worked case study in five chapters, based on the processing of a table of systems monitoring data, from conception of an algorithm to implementation as a simple and then a parallel Java program using the RIT PJ Parallel Java Library. It further provides a section of Configuration Details for code installation, and for testing of the Java codes, based on the use of a generally available applications development platform.
Gotikhel Hydropower Plant (GHP) is one of the nearest Isolated Micro Hydropower Plant (MHP) from the main city out of 650 isolated MHPs available in Nepal which still supplies electrical power to 173 Households, one hull machine and one school. The extension of national grid has made life of MHPs insecure as consumers want the energy from more reliable source i.e. from national grid. In the context of Nepal, especially in rural areas, construction of MHPs are very costly and because of unplanned extension of national grid, some of MHPs are in closing conditions and same cases will continue more in future. So, there is a huge risk in big investments and valuable efforts of villagers.
Synchronization of MHPs to the national grid will be the ultimate solution for the existence of MHPs in Nepal. So, this Master Thesis will also focus on grid connection of GHP and consequent impacts on technical as well as financial sectors before and after the grid connection of GHP.
Taking GHP as a private/ community pilot project for grid connection in Nepal, the following objectives of grid-connected MHPs has been generalized:

To ensure optimum use of national resource and fulfill the possible new demand of energy in rural areas since grid connection and Power Exchange Agreement (PEA) allow the Rural Electrification Entity (REE) to sell their excess energy to Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) grid and the REE can purchase the required energy from the grid when the demand of its members surpass the generation by MHP(s) under it.
. To facilitate development of new MHPs by local communities, Individual Power Producers as they can profiteer by selling the excess energy to the grid.
. To ensure market for spill energy of MHPs.

ABSTRACTAgricultural nurseries are key in the production of horticultural and forestry seedlings. Various nursery media is used to raise these seedlings. The study was aimed at determining the researchers views and opinions on the nursery practices that the farmers employ. The survey was carried out to establish the productivity and types of media used in the nursery industry within Manicaland, Zimbabwe. In this study, the survey was conducted at provincial level within five (5) selected districts of Manicaland Province. In each district, all the existing nurseries were selected. Data was analyzed using the descriptive analysis. Nursery holders were classified as entrepreneurs, farmers, local government owned and non profit making organizations owned. Farmer nurseries were the largest category comprising of 56.4% of the total sampled population. Most of the seedlings were raised in containers with the exception of vegetable seedlings which were raised in seed beds. Nursery media comprising of top soil and compost proved to be most popular amongst nursery owners. Pine media used proved to be least used due to its low water holding capacity and lack of proper extension training on its use.

Thiswork deals with the matrix methods of continuous signal and image processing according to which strip-transformation is used. The authors suggest ways to solve a problem of evaluating potential noise immunity and synthesis of an optimal filter for the case of pulse noises, of applying the two-dimensional strip-transformation for storage and noise immune transmission of images. The strip-transformation of images is illustrated by examples and classes of images invariant relative to symmetrical orthogonal transformations.
